Moscow is emerging as a premier destination for Indian business tourists, offering a unique blend of world-class infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and over 150 distinctive venues ideal for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events. The city is actively promoting itself as a hub for business tourism through the efforts of the Moscow City Tourism Committee. Moscow’s streamlined visa process, growing accessibility to Indian cuisine, and its ability to host both large-scale conferences and out-of-the-box events—like those in historical mansions, museums, or open-air parks—enhance its appeal.
According to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the number of business tourists in Moscow is expected to reach 8 million by 2030, with India playing a key role in this growth. Moscow’s business tourism is not limited to meetings—it offers a rich cultural tapestry, including visits to landmarks like the Kremlin and Red Square, immersive performances, and even summits atop the Ostankino TV Tower. Business trips often blend seamlessly with cultural programs, offering visitors a more holistic experience.
Maya Anurova, Head of the Business Tourism Development Department, emphasizes the growing demand for personalized and memorable experiences among modern business travelers. Moscow responds to this with diverse leisure programs and signature initiatives like the Moscow Tea Time Project, Moscow Estates Festival, City of Discoveries, and the RUSSPASS travel planning service.
At the OTM tourism exhibition in Mumbai, the Moscow delegation conducted over 2,000 meetings with Indian industry professionals, reinforcing India’s importance as a key market for MICE tourism and strengthening Moscow’s position as a top-tier business travel destination.
